PWR Moves

PWR Moves Physical Therapy in Rochester, NY - Expert Parkinson's Care

At Wellness 360 Fitness, our PWR Moves Program in Rochester, NY, is explicitly designed to help you manage these changes with confidence and a stronger sense of control. The program relies on movements that support better motor control, increased flexibility, reduced stiffness, improved mobility, and the long-term benefits of neuroplasticity. Everything we do is focused on helping you maintain independence and continue doing the activities that matter most to you.

What are PWR Moves?

PWR Moves, which stands for Parkinson Wellness Recovery, was developed by physical therapist Dr. Becky Farley. It is one of the most respected therapy approaches for individuals with Parkinson’s because it is based on neuroscience and functional movement training. The method teaches your body to move with larger, stronger, and more intentional motions that counteract the smaller, slower patterns commonly associated with Parkinson's.

PWR Moves focuses on four essential movement patterns:
  • Antigravity extension, which encourages upright posture and stability
  • Weight shifting, which supports safer and more confident steps
  • Axial rotation, which improves the ability to turn smoothly
  • Transitional movements, which include rising from a chair, shifting positions, and other everyday tasks
Since its introduction in 2010, PWR Moves has continued to grow as a trusted, evidence-based approach used by physical therapists across the country.

Benefits of PWR Moves Physical Therapy

PWR Moves offers a wide range of benefits that support both mobility and overall quality of life. These include:
  • Better motor control and improved movement quality
  • Greater flexibility and expanded range of motion
  • Stronger postural support and core stability
  • Improved balance for safer walking and standing
  • Functional mobility that supports everyday routines
  • Enhanced neuroplasticity to help preserve long-term independence
These improvements play an essential role in reducing fall risk, increasing confidence, and helping you stay engaged in meaningful activities.
